finally! My choice for the Booker prize actually won!

Well, this is a first -- the book I liked best on the Booker Prize long list won.  This year it's The Sense of an Ending, by Julian Barnes.

Not that he'll read this, but congratulations, Julian Barnes!

  1. Agreed, the award is deserved. It took me a while. I was a bit frustrated with the book at first but now I get it. Just posted my thoughts on my blog.

  2. Sometimes I've discovered that if you bury yourself in the details (the collective you, not YOU, Mrs. B) rather than the bigger picture, it can be a bit overwhelming. I'm glad you ended up feeling okay about the book! And yes, definitely, it was more than deserved.

Memo to authors: big is not necessarily better.

Say what you will, but at least try to be nice about it.
